Hello! I'm Shawnee, the heart and hands behind RockinDachs. My profound love for Miniature Dachshunds began when I was just a child, sparked by an adventurous neighbor's pup who won us all over. That early friendship cemented a lifelong bond and fueled a passion that has only grown stronger. Today, I cannot imagine life without these incredible companions—each one a precious gem in our lives.

My journey in responsible breeding began alongside my mother, the dedicated owner of SpottaDachs Kennels. Growing up, I gained invaluable early experience that instilled in me a deep respect for the art and responsibility of ethical breeding. This respect for all life and commitment to integrity is grounded in my Christian faith, which guides the high standards and compassion evident in every decision we make.
RockinDachs officially began its own chapter in 2014. My goal has always been simple: to produce and support prime examples of the Miniature Dachshund breed. We are committed to continuous learning and refining our practices, ensuring our program embodies Rock-Solid Health and Unwavering Character.

Our program is now strategically located in Onalaska, WA, where our philosophy thrives. Our commitment is strengthened by working alongside a trusted co-breeder, ensuring that every dog benefits from constant, focused attention and training from two generations of committed caregivers.
This partnership allows us to maintain the highest standards of ethics and welfare. We rigorously evaluate every breeding dog, ensuring they meet our exacting standards of excellence—a commitment that occasionally means making difficult long-term placement decisions for dogs we've raised, always prioritizing the overall health and integrity of our lines.

• Rock-Solid Health Protocols: We follow an aggressive preventative care routine—deworming starts at two weeks and vaccines at five weeks, continuing every two weeks as needed.
• Exceptional Health & Conformation: Breeding dogs with sound structure, backed by Embark DNA testing on all parents. Through careful selection, we strive to keep the risk of IVDD low. We offer genetic testing for our puppies as an additional service if the new family wants to know more about their puppy’s specific traits.
• In-Home Nurturing: Every puppy is raised inside our family home, ensuring optimal early socialization to the sights, sounds, and routines of daily life for a seamless transition.
• Meticulous Matching: We conduct a professional, hands-on 7-week Temperament Assessment for every puppy. This evaluation ensures a thoughtful and harmonious match, delivering on our promise of a perfect gem.
• The Advanced Companion Program: We offer meticulously prepared Garnet, Sapphire, Emerald, and Diamond puppy tiers for families seeking an expertly guided, consistent foundation in early manners and socialization.
