The Fire Tiers
What Your Investment Includes — and Why
At RockinDachs, pricing reflects one thing: how much developmental foundation has been built before Homecoming Day. Every prospect receives the same non-negotiable health standard regardless of tier. What changes is the training and maturity milestone they have reached when they come home to you.

The Companion Ladder
Spark — $2,500
The Nursery Graduate
We’ve struck the spark and given this prospect the gentlest start possible. Now it’s your turn to shape who they become.
Weaning complete. Sensory desensitization and handling foundation established — paws, ears, and mouth. Litter box introduction. Crate quiet time up to one hour. Feline passive exposure. First round of core vaccinations.
Best for families who want to be hands-on from the very beginning and build the bond themselves from day one.
Flicker — $2,900
The Started Prospect
We’ve nursed that spark into its first flame. Now it’s your turn to help it grow.
All Spark foundations, plus: name recognition, Sit command, leash acceptance, potty schedule, car ride conditioning, second vaccinations, feline respectful curiosity.
Best for families who want the earliest fragile weeks handled professionally but are ready and eager to take the lead on continued training.
Flame — $3,300
The Structured Junior
We’ve done the hard early work so you don’t have to start from scratch. Now it’s your turn to carry them further.
All Flicker foundations, plus: Place command, recall foundation, extended crate up to four hours, doorway and food bowl boundaries, full puppy vaccines excluding Rabies, public neutralization, feline coexistence.
Best for busy families, first-time Dachshund owners, or anyone who wants a companion that arrives with real structure already in place.
Lantern — $3,700
The Well-Founded Prospect
We’ve tamed the flame and made it safe for your home. Now it’s your turn to let it light your days.
All Flame foundations, plus: emotional regulation and off-switch, solid recall, Leave It, and loose-leash walking, polite greetings, public confidence, advanced impulse control, full vaccine series including Rabies, feline turn-key coexistence.
A Lantern prospect arrives with the deepest foundation we build — but they are still a young dog, and consistent continued training remains essential. What changes at this tier is where you are starting from, not whether the work is done.
Best for families seeking maximum readiness and a companion who arrives genuinely prepared for the full rhythm of home life.
Returning and Retiring Companions
These prospects are featured through The Vintage Feature and listed on our Adults page.
Retiring Breeder (Ember) — $800
Our Hearthstone Gentlemen and Fireside Ladies who have completed their breeding season and are ready for a quieter hearth. House-mannered, health-current, full of life. Adopting family assumes responsibility for spay/neuter within 60 days. Strict non-breeding agreement applies.
Returned Companion (Rehoming) — $750–$1,750
Our lifelong return policy means we always welcome our dogs back — no questions asked. The fee charged to the new family reflects the specific rehabilitation required: dental, vaccines, retraining, or some combination. Every returned companion is fully prepared before placement.
The Deposit Structure
Enrollment Fee — $200, non-refundable, applied to final balance
Reservation Fee — $500, non-refundable, applied to final balance, due when your match is confirmed
Total Applied at Homecoming — $700 deducted from your final balance
The Enrollment Fee joins you to the Legacy Home Enrollment. The Reservation Fee formally holds your matched prospect. Neither is a deposit toward a purchase — they are investments in a placement process that protects you, the dog, and the integrity of the match.
