The 4-Point Check: Our Standard for Success
Before any Gem is cleared to advance from the Sapphire Tier to Emerald or Diamond, they undergo our proprietary 4-Point Check. This evaluation ensures that when a puppy joins your family, they aren't just a certain age—they have reached a specific level of competency.
1. Connection
We look for puppies that are "human-centric." A ready graduate is one that consistently checks in with their handler, seeks out eye contact, and shows a natural desire to engage. This foundation is what makes a RockinDachs companion so deeply intuitive.
2. Compliance
Compliance isn't about rigid "obedience" at such a young age; it’s about a willing spirit. We evaluate how a puppy responds to boundaries and their eagerness to follow a lead. This ensures that the training transition to your home is seamless.
3. Confidence
The world is a big place for a small dog. We test our puppies on varied terrains, expose them to the sounds of a working household, and encourage them to explore the natural environment of our Cave Junction home. A confident puppy is a resilient puppy.
4. Drive
By identifying what motivates a puppy—whether it’s a favorite toy, a treat, or simple physical praise—we can better understand their personality. This allows us to match the right energy level to the right family through our "Vibe Check" process.

• Emerald Tier graduates have moved beyond the basics, demonstrating mastered crate conditioning and receiving their second round of vaccines.
• Diamond Tier juniors have proven their confidence in more complex environments and have solidified their potty habits.
