Protection through Microchips

The Problem
As a pet owner we want to make sure our dogs are protected. We take great care to keep them up to date on vaccines and deworming, we make sure they have training to keep them out of dangerous situations (walking on leashes, instant recall, crate training, etc), we make sure to puppy proof our homes and yards, the list goes on. But what happens when despite our best efforts our four legged family members get off their leash or push past us at the door? Maybe they dug out of the yard or, heaven forbid, someone reached over the fence and stole them? It's a scary and heart breaking situation when they are just gone. We have been there more than once. Despite every precaution something happened and our furbaby was lost to us. In most of these cases we were able to locate them hours or days later, but there have been times when we never did.
The Solution
Collars, or harnesses, and tags only work if your pet is wearing them. Lost flyers only work if they weren't stolen. So what can we do to make sure that no matter what they can be identified as ours? We have found the most reliable way to make sure our dogs can be identified as ours is through the power of the microchip. Because microchips are embedded under the pet's skin and not worn externally they aren’t something the pet can slip out of or be easily removed like a collar or harness. Microchips can be scanned at any vet office or animal shelter and checked through a database of registered pets.

As of August 16th, 2023, all puppies born here are microchipped using Fi Nano. We use Fi Nano for a number of reasons, our biggest two being:

  1. You, the dog owner, will never have to pay to keep you dog's information up to date meaning your registration never expires leaving you to worry if your pet will make it home to you if you are seperated.
  2. All of the dogs that have come from or have resided at our kennel are dual register with our information. What this means for you is if your information changed from what Fi Nano has on file they can contact us in the event that your dog has been seperated from you. Once we have been notified we can then reach out with the most updated information on our end to reunite you with your dog.

For those that have purchased a puppy after this date you will need to register your puppy’s microchip to your information. You can follow the instructions provided by Fi Nano using the links below or reach out to us and we can assist you in the registering process.
